STOLEN CHILDHOODS
CHARITY CONCERT FOR UKRAINE
YOUTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA OF UKRAINE
Ukrainian children’s choirs Vognyk and Dzvinochok
Direction OKSANA LYNIV
«During the terrible war taking place in the heart of Europe, when hatred grows and huge number of innocent victims die, culture has perhaps become the most important means of healing pain and despair».
These are the words of Oksana LYNIV, conductor of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (YsOU). They sum up the ambition of the project supported by the Strasbourg-based association Support Action Ukraine (SAU).

The concert given by the Youth Symphony Orchestra Ukraine on Thursday 28 March at Strasbourg’s Palais de la Musique et des Congrès is much more than an exceptional musical event. The concert is a major European cultural event and one of the highlights of the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe, a stark reminder of the imperative need to defend the founding principles of the organisation, namely democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
Symbolism aside, the primary aim of the concert is to raise funds to help the non-profit association Support Action Ukraine (SAU) purchase of a mobile operating theatre for the Zaporzhzhia region (€30,000) and to offer psychological support to displaced children affected by the war.
